Acne Remedies You Can Make at Home

Despite what you may or may not have heard from your family physician, there are tons of different acne remedies that you can make at home with simple ingredients that you can find at any grocery store. These concoctions are cheap and easy to make and will only cost you anywhere between five and ten dollars in total depending on the price of fruits and herbs in your local supermarket.

At this point you may be a little confused. Using fruits and herbs as an acne remedy? That’s right. There are quite a few well documented complexion clearing properties in the fruits and herbs that you likely eat on a regular basis - but nobody tells you about them because they are trying to sell over the counter and prescription acne remedies instead. After all, nobody but the farmers get rich on selling fruits and vegetables, and it would be counterintuitive for a big drug company to go around telling people that all they need to clear their skin from acne is to rub some fruits on their face.

But business practices aside, there are quite a few different fruits and herbs that can be used to clear the acne from your face. Using these natural foods as a home acne remedy is easily the cheapest, and perhaps one of the most effective, ways for just about anyone to keep their skin healthy, clear, and acne free.

The first types of fruits used in making home acne remedies are from the citrus family. Lemons and oranges in particular. Both of these fruits contain a variety of astringent properties that can clear your face of regular pimples and acne if you leave their juices on your face for longer periods of time. Simply cut a piece from the fruit, squeeze out the juices, and rub the juices on the problematic spots. Your acne will be gone in no time.

Another great home acne remedy comes from mint leaves. Mint has long been known to have anti-inflammatory properties, so it makes perfect sense that mint can also be used to treat inflammation on the skin - such as acne. Simply use a mortar and pestle or some other kind of crushing device to mash the mint up into a paste and rub that paste on your affected areas. Not only will your skin look better, but it will smell fantastic.

Finally, you can try making a type of papaya paste to clear your acne. Papaya actually has many of the same healing qualities as the natural acne remedies above. A good concoction with papaya is to make a paste with the papaya and some orange peels for a double dose of acne fighting action.
